SSC CHSL Tier 1 Exam Pattern
Tier 1 is strictly objective in nature (MCQ) and the mode of the exam will be online. The question paper will comprise 4 sections.
- Part I- General Intelligence
- Part II -English Language
- Part III- Quantitative Aptitude
- Part IV- General Awareness/General Knowledge.
- The duration of the exam is 60 Minutes.
- The question paper will be set in both English and Hindi for every section except the English Language section.
- Marks obtained in the Tier 1 exam, the aspirants need to follow the normalization process.

SSC CHSL Tier 1 Marking Scheme
- Every correct response: +2 marks
- Unattempted question- no mark will be awarded or deducted
- Negative marking of 0.50 marks will be applicable in the exam
SSC CHSL Tier 2 Exam Pattern
- Tier 2 will be a descriptive exam to be conducted in offline (pen & paper-based) mode.
- SSC CHSL exam will be of 100 marks which must be completed within 60 minutes. However, the candidates who need scribe will get additional 20 minutes of compensatory time.
- Exam must be written in either Hindi or English.
- Qualifying marks set by the conducting body in Tier 2 of SSC CHSL are 33 percent.
- Aspirants have to write their correct roll number on the cover page of the answer book (exactly at the prescribed place). The aspirants also require to attach the signature and left thumb impression in the prescribed column of the answer book.
- If the answer book does not bear the roll number, signature, and left-hand thumb impression, then the candidates will be awarded zero.
- The aspirants should not also write any personal information such as name, roll number, address and mobile number, etc. inside the answer book. Unless you follow the given instructions, you will be awarded zero marks during the evaluation process.
